AKU ADALAH AKU (I AM WHAT I AM)

Keluaran 3:13-14.

Tetapi Musa berkata kepada Allah: "Tetapi apabila aku mendapatkan orang Israel dan berkata kepada mereka: Allah nenek moyangmu telah mengutus aku kepadamu, dan mereka bertanya kepadaku: bagaimanakah tentang nama-Nya? - apakah yang harus kujawab kepada mereka?"

Firman Allah kepada Musa: "AKU ADALAH AKU." Lagi firman-Nya: "Beginilah kau katakan kepada orang Israel itu: AKULAH AKU telah mengutus aku kepadamu".

Salam sejahtera dalam kasih Tuhan.

Mungkin sebagian besar kita pernah bertanya siapakah nama Allah itu? Bagi orang Kristen sejak sekolah minggu mungkin bisa dengan cepat menjawab nama-Nya Yesus Kristus! Dan itu benar adanya. Sebab Allah memang menyatakan diri-Nya dalam Yesus Kristus, sehingga jika ditanyakan nama-Nya, pastilah Ia bernama Yesus Kristus.

Walaupun demikian, perlu kita pastikan bahwa pemilik nama Yesus Kristus yang mana yang adalah Allah? Karena begitu banyak orang memiliki nama seperti itu. Misalnya di daerah latin, nama Jesus, Cristo, bahkan Jesus Cristo juga ada.  Tetapi Allah adalah Dia yang bernama Yesus Kristus yang disalibkan, mati dan bangkit pada hari ke-tiga, lalu naik ke sorga. Untuk Pribadi yang satu ini, hanya ada satu di dunia.

Namun bagi mereka yang berada di zaman sebelumnya dan bagi mereka yang belum mengenal Tuhan Yesus, maka sangat sulit menjawab nama Allah.  Musa adalah orang pertama yang dicatat Alkitab yang menanyakan nama Allah langsung kepada Allah sendiri dan mendapat jawaban dari Allah (sebelumnya Yakub pernah juga menanyakan nama Allah ketika bergelut dengan-Nya di Pniel Kej:32:29. Namun tak mendapat jawaban).

Renungan kali ini kita belajar bukan saja mencari nama Allah tetapi juga arti nama tersebut bagi kita. Sehingga ketika kita ditanyakan nama Allah, kita dapat menjawab juga dapat menginsafi siapa Allah dan siapa kita.

Pertama kita perlu mencari tahu kenapa Musa menanyakan nama Allah.

Musa adalah seorang Ibrani yang dibesarkan dalam keluarga Firaun Mesir. Jauh sebelum Musa lahir, seorang Ibrani bernama Yusuf menjadi penguasa di Mesir satu tingkat di bawah Firaun.  Oleh karena kelaparan besar melanda dunia saat itu dan melalui Yusuf yang dipakai Allah, maka bangsa Mesir dan banyak penduduk dunia terselamatkan dari musim kering dan kelaparan tersebut. Melalui Yusuf juga akhirnya seluruh keluarga Israel pindah dan tinggal di Mesir.

Namun kemudian setelah 2 generasi Firaun, maka munculah Firaun baru di Mesir yang tidak mengenal Yusuf dan jasa-jasanya. Dan juga saat itu keturunan keluarga Israel sudah sangat banyak berkembang menjadi suatu bangsa. Firaun baru ini kemudian memperlakukan perbudakan terhadap bangsa Israel guna menekan laju pertumbuhan mereka. Namun tetap saja makin bertambah banyak. Kemudian Firaun memaklumatkan membunuh semua bayi laki-laki yang dilahirkan orang Israel.  Dan saat itulah Musa lahir.

Musa diselamatkan dari pembunuhan tersebut dengan membuang bayi itu ke sungai Nil menggunakan keranjang apung. Dan bayi itu ditemukan oleh putri Firaun kemudian diangkat anak olehnya.  Jadi Musa tumbuh dalam pendidikan dan budaya Mesir saat itu. Namun karena masa balita-nya dia dititipkan kembali ke ibu Israelnya untuk disusui, maka dia tetap ingat asal usulnya.

Musa bertumbuh dewasa bersama-sama dengan anak Firaun yang kelak memegang tahta selanjutnya. Musa bahkan tercatat dalam sejarah Mesir pernah memegang pasukan perang Mesir dan memenangkan pertempuran.  Dia cukup disegani di Mesir, hampir sederajat dengan putra mahkota Firaun saat itu. Oleh karena itu Musa saat diutus Allah ke Mesir bisa leluasa menghadap Firaun yang adalah notabene saudara tirinya.

Namun pada suatu kejadian, Musa melihat orang Mesir menganiaya budak Ibrani, lalu Musa membunuh orang Mesir itu dalam perkelahian. Dan karena itulah dia melarikan diri ke padang Gurun.  Di padang gurun ini dia belajar menjadi rendah dan hina sebagai gembala ternak.  Dan disitulah dia melihat semak belukar yang berapi namun tidak terbakar. Dia melihat Allah.

Melalui pertemuan itu, Allah mengutus Musa kepada Firaun untuk membebaskan bangsa Israel dari perbudakan. Dalam percakapan itulah kemudian Musa bertanya nama Allah.

Kenapa Musa bertanya nama Allah? Tentu saja karena pada zaman itu Musa belajar dari pengalaman hidupnya bahwa semua dewa-dewa di bangsa-bangsa yang dikenalnya memiliki nama.  Sedangkan Musa tidak tahu nama Allah orang Israel, maka dia kuatir jika nanti ditanyakan maka Musa tidak dapat menjawab atau tidak mengetahui nama-Nya. Tentu bangsa Israel akan langsung menolaknya.

Sebagai contoh, 10 tulah di Mesir sebenarnya bentuk pembuktian Allah kepada bangsa Mesir dimana Allah menghajar 10 dewa-dewi Mesir melalui 10 tulah tersebut.

1. Tulah air menjadi darah - Allah membunuh dewa Hepi atau dewa sungai Nil.
2. Tulah katak - Allah mendatangkan katak-katak (dewi Haket, dewi katak atau dewi kesusahan) dan membunuhnya, dimana seaakan-akan Allah sendiri yang berkuasa atas kesusahan.
3. Tulah nyamuk dan debu - Allah melawan dewa tanah.
4. Tulah Lalat - Allah melawan dewa Hepri yang berkepala lalat, ini dewa reinkernasi. Allah malah memakai dewa ini untuk menyiksa orang Mesir sendiri.
5. Tulah sampar - Allah melawan dewi Hathor, dewi perlindungan dan cinta yang berwajah lembu. Dan semua ternak Mesir dibunuh memakai penyakit sampar.
6. Tulah barah - Allah melawan Dewi Isis, yaitu dewi kesehatan dan kedamaian. Allah menghilangkan kesehatan dan kedamaian orang Mesir. Dan karena kena barah, maka tak ada orang Mesir bisa beribadah karena dianggap najis.
7. Tulah hujan Es - Allah melawan dewi Nut, yaitu dewi langit. Allah berkuasa atas langit dan menurunkan hujan Es.
8. Tulah belalang- Allah melawan dewa Seth, dewa badai dan ketidakteraturan. Allah justru memakai badai dan ketidakteraturan menghancurkan Mesir.
9. Tulah kegelapan - Allah melawan dewa Ra, yaitu dewa matahari. Allah menutup matahari sehingga Mesir gelap gulita.
10. Tulah kematian anak sulung - Allah melawan Firaun yang dianggap sebagai dewa setara dengan dewa Ra, dan Allah merengut kehidupan anak seorang Firaun.

Kembali ke pertanyaan Musa kepada Allah tentang nama-Nya, dan Allah menjawab Musa : "AKU ADALAH AKU!". Pertama kali dalam Alkitab seseorang menanyakan Allah nama-Nya dan mendapat jawaban dari Allah sendiri.

Namun yang menarik di sini adalah kata Ibrani asli dari jawaban itu sangat terkenal dan sering menjadi perdebatan, yaitu sebutan: YHWH atau bunyinya: "Yod", "Hey", "Vav", "Hey", atau jika disambung sering disebut "Yahweh".

Beberapa aliran sesat sering memakai nama ini sebagai alasan untuk menyerang iman umat Kristen terhadap Alkitab yang kita baca sehari-hari. Mereka mengatakan bahwa pemakaian kata Allah tidak tepat, karena seharusnya Alkitab tidak memakai pengaruh bahasa Arab tetapi memakai nama asli Ibrani Allah yaitu "Yahweh".

Ini kesalahan besar aliran tersebut karena mereka tidak paham bahwa YHWH itu adalah singkatan dari jawaban Allah kepada Musa. "AKU ADALAH AKU" dalam bahasa Ibraninya adalah "EHYEH-ASHER-EHYEH" dan karena bahasa Ibrani tidak mengenal huruf hidup untuk penulisan ditulis YHWH yang dibunyikan "Yahweh" bagi sebagian orang.

Sementara bagi orang Ibrani sendiri, nama YHWH sangat suci dan tidak boleh disebutkan, barangsiapa menyebutkannya akan dihukum mati dilempari batu (itulah banyak kisah dalam Alkitab seseorang dituduh menghujat nama Allah lalu dihukum mati, yaitu dituduh menyebut YHWH).  Jika orang Ibrani (Israel) menemukan kata YHWH dalam kitab suci, maka mereka akan menyebutkan dengan tegas dan keras dengan sebutan "ADONAI", inilah sebutan penganti yang merujuk YHWH. 

Dalam Alkitab juga demikian, jika kita menemukan kata TUHAN dalam huruf besar semua, itulah sama dengan menyebut ADONAI, merujuk tulisan aslinya adalah YHWH.  Sedangkan jika Alkitab menulis Allah maka dalam tulisan aslinya Elohim (Allah yang Mahakuasa).  Mengapa Alkitab bahasa Indonesia menyerap kata Allah? Bukan karena menyerap bahasa Arab, melainkan karena menyerap bahasa asli daerah timur tengah, yang serumpun yaitu Aram, Arab, dan Semit.

Jadi sesungguhnya Alkitab sudah menuliskan dengan pemahaman dan sejarah yang benar, sehingga tuduhan-tuduhan kesalahan penulisan karena tidak memakai YHWH adalah justru tuduhan yang tidak benar dan menyesatkan.

Pernyataan "AKU ADALAH AKU" seakan menjelaskan bahwa  inilah AKU, Allah satu-satunya, tidak ada Allah lain dan bukan di atas allah-allah, karena tidak ada allah lain selain AKU. Ini menghempaskan keyakinan Musa dan kebanyakan orang saat ini bahwa ada pluralisme dalam kepercayaan. Kenyataannya tidak ada. Bagaimana mungkin mengakui adanya allah lain jika tidak ada selain Allah yang bernama "AKU ADALAH AKU" ini?

Orang Israel sejati tidak akan mengakui allah lain, karena memang tidak ada allah lain. Hanya ada satu Allah yaitu YHWH (Adonai). Ini juga menunjukkan otoritas Allah atas semesta. Dia absolut dan tidak bisa diatur. Dia satu-satunya yang mengatur segalanya, karena Dia yang menciptakan dan berkuasa atas segalanya.

Dari jawaban Allah ini, menjelaskan perbedaan diri-Nya dengan semua tuhan dan dewa dewi yang dikenal Musa dan yang dimiliki bangsa-bangsa saat itu. 

Kenapa begitu banyak allah-allah, dewa dewi dan berhala-berhala yang dipuja oleh berbagai bangsa pada zaman itu? Ya karena itu lebih mudah.  Manusia cenderung menginginkan kepastian dan kemampuan mengatur segala sesuatu. Oleh karena itu lebih mudah memiliki allah atau dewa dewi yang bisa diatur dan dipastikan, misalnya bisa dilihat, dipegang atau memberi kesan dapat melayakkan diri dengan melakukan sesuatu untuk allah, dewa-dewi maupun berhalanya.

Sederhananya, agama perbuatan. Artinya dengan berbuat cukup dan dapat masuk surga. Padahal ini tidak mungkin karena dalam surga diharuskan tidak bercacat dan bercela. Menimbang dosa dan amal tidak ada gunanya karena seberapapun amal kita jika setitik dosa saja maka tidak dapat masuk ke surga yang suci dan kudus. Jika bisa masuk, tentunya surga tidak suci dan kudus lagi karena setitik noda dosa itu bukan?

Efesus 2:8,9.

Sebab karena kasih karunia kamu diselamatkan oleh iman; itu bukan hasil usahamu (perbuatan baikmu), tetapi pemberian Allah, itu bukan hasil pekerjaanmu (amal ibadahmu): jangan ada orang yang memegahkan diri.

Keselamatan itu kasih karunia atau pemberian Allah. Bukan karena kita baik dan benar, beramal dan beribadah dengan rajin, tetapi sepenuhnya belas kasihan dan anugerah Allah.

Pertanyaannya bagaimana kasih karunia atau pemberian itu diberikan bagi kita? Ya kasih karunia atau pemberian itu dikemas dalam Yesus Kristus. Dan persyaratannya adalah barangsiapa yang menaruh iman percaya pada Yesus Kristus sajalah yang akan diselamatkan.

Yohanes 3:16

Karena begitu besar kasih Allah akan dunia ini, sehingga Ia telah mengaruniakan Anak-Nya yang tunggal, supaya setiap orang yang percaya kepada-Nya tidak binasa, melainkan beroleh hidup yang kekal.

Yohanes 1:12

Tetapi setiap orang yang menerima-Nya diberi-Nya kuasa supaya menjadi anak-anak Allah, yaitu mereka yang percaya dalam nama-Nya.

Ini sangat menarik bahwa orang Kristen mempercayai bahwa Allah yang bertemu dengan Musa adalah juga Yesus Kristus yaitu Allah yang menjadi manusia. Dan memang demikian, karena seluruh isi Perjanjian Lama (yang disebut sebagai TANAKH dalam bahasa aslinya), semuanya merujuk nubuatan tentang kelahiran dan kehidupan serta penebusan oleh Mesias yaitu Kristus.

TANAKH sendiri merupakan akronim dari: "Torah" (5 Kitab Taurat Musa berisi pengajaran),  "Nevi'im" (Kitab nabi-nabi baik nabi-nabi besar dan nabi-nabi kecil, besar atau kecilnya dibedakan dari tebal gulungan kitabnya), dan "Ketuvim" (Kitab puitis, yaitu termasuk Mazmur, Amsal, Ayub, Kidung Agung, Pengkotbah).

Bagaimana penjelasan Allah sendiri tentang nama-Nya yang satu ini yaitu Yesus Kristus. Ternyata Musapun diberitahukan akan hal ini. Lihat Keluaran 6:2-3.

Selanjutnya berfirmanlah Allah kepada Musa: "Akulah TUHAN (YHWH baca ADONAI). Aku telah menampakkan diri kepada Abraham, Ishak dan Yakub sebagai Allah Yang Mahakuasa (ELOHIM), tetapi dengan nama-Ku TUHAN (YHWH baca ADONAI) Aku belum menyatakan diri."

Tentu saja "AKU ADALAH AKU" bukanlah sebuah nama, tetapi otoritas dan identitas. Sehingga ketika dikatakan bahwa dengan nama-Ku TUHAN Aku belum menyatakan (menampakkan) diri memiliki makna yang lebih misterius, sementara sebagai Elohim, Dia telah menampakkan diri kepada Abraham, Ishak dan Yakub. Apakah berarti Allah sudah menyatakan (menampakkan) diri kepada Musa dengan nama-Nya itu, seperti kepada Abraham, Ishak dan Yakub? Tentu tidak, Musa hanya melihat Api disemak belukar dan mendengar suara Allah, dikemudian haripun prestasi Musa hanya melihat tangan juga punggung Allah. Jadi pernyataan diri sebenarnya belum terjadi saat itu.

Dari Alkitab Perjanjian Baru maka kita melihat bagaimana pernyataan Allah kepada manusia itu menjadi nyata dalam diri Yesus Kristus. IMMANUEL, Allah beserta manusia ditulis dalam bahasa Ibrani dan kemudian dalam bahasa Yunani (Gerika) ditulis Emmanuel. 

Immanuel pertama kali disebut dalam Perjanjian Lama sebagai janji keselamatan dalam Yesaya 7 dan 8, kemudian digenapi dalam perjanjian baru dimana berita kelahiran Yesus Kristus kepada Maria dan Yusuf serta para gembala di padang rumput.

Kehadiran wujud Allah ini bukan lagi dalam bentuk api disemak belukar, tiang awan dan tiang api, dalam suara gemuruh, tetapi dalam wujud yang bisa disentuh dan berinteraksi dengan manusia. Itulah Yesus Kristus.

Kesetaraan Yesus dengan Allah nyata dari perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya dan ajaran-Nya yang hanya mungkin dilakukan oleh Allah sendiri. Tidak ada seorang manusiapun yang mampu melakukan apa yang dilakukan Yesus untuk menebus dosa umat manusia. Kebangkitan-Nya dari kematian dan kenaikan-Nya ke Surga menjadi bukti otentik Allah mengunjungi manusia.

Lagipula kehadiran Yesus Kristus bukan kebetulan melainkan melalui rencana yang dinubuatkan sepanjang sejarah Alkitab Perjanjian Lama atau TANAKH. 

Sehingga ketika tanda-tanda kedatangan Mesias tergenapi, itu tidak mengejutkan bagi para Rasul dan umat karena semuanya telah dinubuatkan para nabi sebelumnya.

Kisah Para Rasul 4:12

Dan keselamatan tidak ada di dalam siapa pun juga selain di dalam Dia, sebab di bawah kolong langit ini tidak ada nama lain yang diberikan kepada manusia yang olehnya kita dapat diselamatkan."

Nama itu adalah nama Yesus Kristus yaitu Tuhan dan Penebus kita.

Tentu banyak yang meragukan apakah Allah benar menjadi manusia. Tetapi nyatanya bahwa Allah telah mempersiapkan tubuh-Nya sejak awal dengan menciptakan manusia itu sendiri dengan mengambil gambar dan rupa Allah.  Tentu jika Allah ingin berwujud, maka wujudnya adalah manusia. Namun manusia mana? Tentu jawabannya adalah manusia Yesus Kristus yang kudus itu.

"AKU ADALAH AKU" dan keselamatan hanya di dalam nama Yesus, adalah keabsulutan Allah yang sejati dan satu-satunya. Sebagaimana tidak ada Allah lain, maka demikian juga tidak ada keselamatan lain selain di dalam Yesus Kristus.

Ketika kita menyadari betapa luar biasanya Allah menyatakan diri-Nya kepada kita melalui Alkitab, maka kita semakin yakin dan dikuatkan dalam iman. Tuhan Yesus memberkati kita sekalian. Amin.

Exodus 3: 13-14.

But Moses said to God: "But if I get the Israelites and say to them: God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they ask me: how about his name? - What shall I say to them?"

Word of God to Moses, "I AM." And he said: "This is what you say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you".


Greetings in God's love.

Probably most of us have asked what is the name of God? For Christians since the Sunday School might be able to quickly answer His name Jesus Christ! And it's true. For God is revealed Himself in Jesus Christ, so that when asked his name, He named Jesus Christ.


Nevertheless, we need to make sure that the owner of the name of Jesus Christ, which is God? Because so many people have such a name. For example in Latin, the name of Jesus, Cristo, even Jesus Cristo also exist. But God is the one who named Jesus Christ crucified, died and rose again on the third day, and ascended into heaven. For Personal this one, there is only one in the world.

But for those who were in the days before and for those who do not know the Lord Jesus, then it is very difficult to answer the name of God. Moses was the first to note that the Bible asks the name of God directly to God himself and got an answer from God (formerly Jacob had also asked the name of God while struggling with his Pniel Gen: 32: 29. But no response).

Devotional this time we learn not only search for the name of God but also the meaning of that name for us. So when we asked the name of God, we can answer also can realize who God is and who we are.

First we need to find out why Moses asked God's name.

Moses was a Hebrew who was raised in a family of Pharaoh of Egypt. Long before Moses was born, a Hebrew named Joseph became a ruler in Egypt one level below Pharaoh. Hence the great famine swept the world and through Joseph were used by God, then the Egyptians and the world's people were saved from the drought and famine. Through Joseph finally the whole family Israel moved in and lived in Egypt.

But then after two generations of Pharaohs, then comes the new Pharaoh in Egypt who knew not Joseph and his services. And also when the family lineage of Israel is very much developed into a nation. This new Pharaoh then treat the enslavement of the Israelites in order to suppress their growth rate. Still, growing a lot. Then notice the Pharaoh to kill all male babies born to Israel. And that's when Moses was born.


Moses saved from the killing baby by throwing it into the Nile using floating baskets. And the baby was found by Pharaoh's daughter adopted him. So Moses grew up in the education and culture of Egypt at that time. However, due to his early childhood he deposited back into his Israeli mother to breastfeed, he still remembers his origin.

Moses grew up together with the daughter of Pharaoh that would hold the next throne. Moses even recorded in the history of Egypt had held the Egyptian army and won the battle. He is well respected in Egypt, almost equal with the crown prince at the time of Pharaoh. Therefore Moses when God sent to Egypt can freely go to Pharaoh who was in fact his half-brother.


But in an event, Moses saw an Egyptian mistreat a Hebrew slave, and Moses killed the Egyptian in a fight. And so he fled to the desert wilderness. In this wilderness he learned to be a low and contemptible as shepherds. And there he saw the flaming undergrowth but not burned. He saw God.

Through the meeting, God sent Moses to Pharaoh to free the Israelites from slavery. In a conversation later that Moses asked God's name.

Why did Moses asked God's name? Of course, since the days of Moses learned from his experience that all the gods of the nations are known to have a name. While Moses did not know the name of the God of Israel, then later asked her to worry if Moses would not be able to answer or did not know his name. Certainly the people of Israel will be immediately rejected.


For example, the 10 plagues in Egypt is actually a form of proof of God to the people of Egypt when God struck the 10 gods of Egypt through the 10 plagues.

1. Plague water into blood - killing the god Hepi God or god of the Nile.
2. The plague of frogs - God brought frogs (Haket goddess, the goddess or goddesses frog distress) and killed him, where seaakan-God alone had the power of distress.
3. The plagues of mosquitoes and dust - God against the gods of land.
4. Flies plague - God against Hepri-headed god of flies, this god reinkernasi. God actually wears these gods to torment the Egyptians themselves.
5. Plague pestilence - Allah fight the goddess Hathor, goddess of protection and love-faced ox. And all the cattle of Egypt killed wearing a pestilence.
6. A plague of boils - Allah fight the goddess Isis, the goddess of health and peace. God removes health and peace of the Egyptians. And because of contact with the boils, then there is no Egyptians can worship because it is considered unclean.
7. Ice rain plagues - God against the goddess Nut, the sky goddess. God's power over the sky and rained down Es.
8. Belalang- plagues God against the god Seth, the god of storms and irregularities. God actually wear irregularity storm and destroy Egypt.
9. The plague of darkness - God against the god Ra, the sun god. God shut out the sun so that the Egyptians dark.
10. Plague death firstborn - Allah against Pharaoh is regarded as equivalent to god god Ra, and God frowning son of Pharaoh's life.

Back to Moses' question to God about his name, and God said to Moses, "I AM WHAT I AM!". First time in the Bible someone asks God his name and got no answer from God himself.


But what's interesting here is the Hebrew original of the answer very well known and often debated, the term: YHWH or reads: "Yod", "Hey", "Vav", "Hey", or if connected is often called "Yahweh" ,

Some cult often use this name as an excuse to attack the faith of Christians to the Bible that we read everyday. They say that the use of the word Allah is not appropriate, because the Bible should not be put on the influence of Arabic but uses the original Hebrew name of God is "Yahweh".


It's a big mistake the flow because they do not understand that it is an abbreviation of YHWH God's answer to Moses. "I AM WHAT I AM" in Hebrew is "EHYEH-ASHER-EHYEH" and therefore did not know the Hebrew language for writing vowels written YHWH who sounded "Yahweh" for some people.

As for the Hebrews themselves, the name of YHWH is very sacred and should not be mentioned, whoever mentioned it would be put to death stoning (that many stories in the Bible a person accused of blaspheming the name of God and put to death, that is accused of calling YHWH). If the Hebrews (Israel) find the word YHWH in scripture, then they will be stated clearly and loudly as "Adonai", this term refers to substitute the YHWH.


In the Bible, too, if we find the word of the LORD in all capital letters, which is the same as calling Adonai, referring to the original article is YHWH. Whereas if God wrote the Bible in its original writing Elohim (God Almighty). Why does the Bible Indonesian absorb the word of God? Not because it absorbs Arabic, but as it absorbs the native language of the Middle East region, allied namely Aramaic, Arabic and Semitic.

So in fact the Bible has to write with understanding and true history, so that the charges for not wearing a writing error YHWH is precisely the allegations untrue and misleading.

The statement "I AM WHAT I AM" as if to explain that it is I, the only, there is no other God, and not on the gods, because there are no other gods besides Me. It threw Moses confidence and most people today that there is pluralism in trust. The reality does not exist. How could acknowledge their other gods if no one but God called "I AM WHAT I AM" is?


True people of Israel will not recognize other gods, because there is no other god. There is only one God, YHWH (Adonai). It also shows God's authority over the universe. He is absolute and can not be regulated. He's the only one who arranged everything, since He created and all-powerful.

Why are so many gods, deities and idols are worshiped by many nations at that time? Yes because it's easier. Humans tend to want certainty and the ability to manage everything. Certainly much doubt whether God really became man. But the fact that God has been preparing his body from the beginning by creating the man himself to take the image and likeness God. Certainly if God wants tangible, then the form is human. But what man? Of course the answer is the man Jesus Christ holy.

"I AM WHAT I AM" and salvation only in the name of Jesus, is all to absolute God's true and sole. As there is no other God, so also there is no salvation other than through Jesus Christ.
